I think this should be make as dvd also...as previous dvd was taken from my older broadcast that was not first generation copy either and now i had chance to get 1st copy from different broadcast that is overall better than previous release...i dont think you can find better copy from this unless you get copy from masters.
Also sound is excellent since its been recorded with hifi vcr from stereo broadcast i think...though i dont think that MO concert was stereo recording at all but still sounds better than the ones before.
sample1 (from JVC HR-S7722): http://www.megaupload.com/?d=SQZZNPCZ sample2 (from JVC HM-DR10000): http://www.megaupload.com/?d=54B76MJR
its not doctored any way so its direct recording from vhs tape using vcr with digipure technology and time base corrector.
Couple screenshots (from interlaced source)...it looks better in moving picture though.

I recorded it now using other vcr and i got a bit different result out from it so i add sample here from same part as first sample.
First sample was out from vcr JVC HR-S7722 with digipure 3r and tbc on...second sample is out from vcr JVC HM-DR10000 with digipure 3r and tbc on. First sample looks good and almost noiseless in 42" lcd tv but isnt as sharp as second sample...second sample has more background noise which is easy to see in big screen tv but also picture is more detailed. I would prefer myself 2nd version even with more noise but also that recording got few framesync errors while the first one doesnt have....i think those small framesync errors could be manually fixed with computer. maybe we could add both recordings into same dvd? 3 Noviembre 2008, 0:11:23 |

samuli2 sagte: maybe we could add both recordings into same dvd? Yes, why not? And also, we can include the audio version of this show if someone can provide a lossless version that we can include as an extra or an Easter Egg. Also, if you or somebody else can provide a good version of the Dortmund 80 show, maybe both could be included in just one DVD. 3 Noviembre 2008, 19:29:04 |

dortmund is nearly 1 hour so with 8mbps rate it would take 3.5gb atleast....recording i got is released before but it was doctored in pc...raw one is with heavy colors and as well alot color noise...also i cannot use tbc with that without getting heavy jitter so cannot enchance it any way.
im quite sure someone else have better recording from dortmund...i got my copy long time ago from stefan koechling from germany.

I've downloaded the 2 samples posted by Samulli 2, the image's quality of the is really very good. I hope some one could have enough time and experience to realise a DVD, it would be great. One more time, thanks to Samui2 for sharing his material . He bajado los 2 samples puestos por Samuli2, la calidad de la imagen es muy buena ! Espero que alguien tenga bastante tiempo y experiencia para realizar el DVD, seria Genial ! Otra vez, gracias a Samuli2 por compartir.

I don't know how to crop edges, specially without resampling the video (if this is possible). About authoring, there are some tutorials on the NET.

not me i generally dislike emule because torrent is much better....anyway i decide to not add dortmund because previous release from it looks much better as its doctored. does anyone have somewhat good recording from Roskilde 1982? im thinking to make it as dvd but i dont have very good one so i was wondering if anyone got better recording so i dont need to waste time. 18 Diciembre 2008, 2:25:16 |

I got it in a DVD compilation called Live 1979-1982. I think is average quality. May this be one of the versions you have?

It is not as good as I remembered, in fact it doesn't have good quality. But I will try to get a sample for you . About the covers you ask for the Edimburgh video, I can adapt to DVD size the ones I did some time ago for the audio version: http://www.mike-oldfield.es/verfoto.asp?id=5241 (but getting new and better screen shots from the present version). 26 Diciembre 2008, 21:47:06 |

Sorry for the delay. Here's the promised sample. As you can see it sounds OK to me but the picture is not that good. And the sound is compressed to AC3. Roskilde 82 sample: http://www.megaupload.com/es/?d=SYE4GR2O Spinne dijo: Does this audio come from the same tape/VOB files than the video or it is from a different source? samuli2 dijo: same tape I asked about this 'cause the audio have a couple of missing "beats" in Ommadawn and The Sailor's Hornpipe. Now that the video is available I can see that this doesn't happen on the DVD. So, I wonder that if a fix could be provided. 13 Enero 2009, 0:28:33 |

I watched sample and imo it looks horrrible compared to what i got out from my vhs tape ;) I have 2 versions in vhs...other is good and stable in picture wise (not much errors) and other is with better sound but has alot of tape errors and picture is moving left to right (possibly same source as that dvd sample was from) And i probably get to borrow tape where my visually better copy is made from so could get even better result.
About edin audio...those short cuts i remember now why they was appearing in flac version...i made them in purpose when i cut wav files because after i recorded thing in hdd i noticed that recording had 2 not wanted sound from MSN messenger logins so i cut out those msn blings and didnt bother to re record whole thing ;) I dont have that edin tape anymore in my possession so its all i have for now. 13 Enero 2009, 21:33:09 |
