In celebration of its 25th anniversary, one of Mike Oldfield’s personal favourites ‘Amarok’ has been half-speed remastered and pressed on double vinyl for the first time. Originally presented as a sixty-minute suite of music, split into two halves on single vinyl here the album has been divided into four 15 minute edits to optimise audio fidelity, with expanded artwork. Mike again plays almost everything on the album, including “Long Thin metallic hanging Tubes” as listed on the sleeve; a punning reference, of course, to ‘Tubular Bells’.
Pre-order ‘Amarok’ from the official Mike Oldfield store before 23:59pm on Friday 30th of September 2025 to be in with a chance of winning two tickets to a listening event to hear the half-speed mastered vinyl in a studio setting in London on the 30th of October 2025, with a discussion of the mastering process. The winner will also keep the set of white labels that will be played on the day.
Out on the 31st October.
