If you think about all the things I've been connecting and associating with Mike Oldfield and his music you'll realize about these three "emblematic songs".
*Mount Teide. Why this piece of music is so so "sad" but at the same time so so "beautiful"? Mount Teide then represents the Mount of Olives where Jesus Christ used to pray and it is also the place where "that night" he was caught by the Romans soldiers.
*Moonlight Shadow. People think that this song is dedicated to John Lennon but actually is about "that night" when Jesus Christ was taken prisoner by the Romans. It was at night, and She (Mary Magdalene) "couldn't find how to push through". She knew before hand that he (her husband) was going to die (for Jesus Christ himself many times predicted his own death) and She couldn't save him. He was shot six times: actually this is an ALLERGORY, remember that number 6 is the "BEAST NUMBER" or "IMPERFECTION" according to the kabbalah and Christianity, also "A HUNDRED AND FIVE" i.e 1+0+5= 6 (Kabbalah).
This is quite a sad song...that's why She says: "see you in Heaven". Also notice that in the video clip Mike is the one being shot and dies. The video clip starts with an "owl" and "the eye", this beautiful bird thought as an "unlucky" or unfortunate bird is in fact the representation of "wisdom". Remember that "the eye" means God. Notice that Mike puts "the eye" in many of his video clips (The Wind Chimes II) and also in Tr3s Lunas album "Return to the Origin" lyrics: The Eye of the Spirit is watching you. Or Enigma's song: The Cross of Changes where it says: The Eyes of Truth are always watching you...
Moonlight Shadow
The last that ever she saw him Carried away by a moonlight shadow He passed on worried and warning Carried away by a moonlight shadow. Lost in a riddle last saturday night Far away on the other side. He was caught in the middle of a desperate fight And she couldn't find how to push through
The trees that whisper in the evening Carried away by a moonlight shadow Sing a song of sorrow and grieving Carried away by a moonlight shadow All she saw was a silhouette of a gun Far away on the other side. He was shot six times by a man on the run And she couldn't find how to push through
I stay I pray I see you in heaven far away
I stay I pray I see you in heaven one day
Four AM in the morning Carried away by a moonlight shadow I watched your vision forming Carried away by a moonlight shadow Stars move slowly in the silvery night Far away on the other side "Will you come to talk to me this night?" But she couldn't find how to push through
I stay I pray I see you in heaven far away
I stay I pray I see you in heaven one day
Far away on the other side.
Caught in the middle of a hundred and five The night was heavy but the air was alive But she couldn't find how to push through
Carried away by a moonlight shadow Carried away by a moonlight shadow Far away on the other side.
*Shadow on the wall. Really a disturbing, furious and a protest song. It was when Jesus Christ was taken prisoner and put into a prison cell.
Take a look again:
Treat me like a prisoner Treat me like a fool Treat me like a loser Use me as a tool Face me till I'm hungry Push me in the cold Treat me like a criminal Just a shadow on the wall
Treat me like I'm evil Freeze me till I'm cold Beat me till I'm feeble Grab me till I'm old Fry me till I'm tired Push me till I fall Treat me like a criminal Just a shadow on the wall
Oh, I almost forgot: notice also that Moonlight Shadow and Shadow on the wall are songs that belong to the "Crises" album.
