Hello, ¿how are you?, I'd like to know how is mike seen in his country?, the spanish people survive with the webs like this, where we meet us and give our opinion about Mike, and we get information, downloads, etc. But I don't meet anybody outside of spain (particullary from U.K., cause is the mike's country) that likes mike.

I think I am the only one from the UK that visits this site.

Mike, unfortunately doesn't do so well in the UK where record sales are concerned. It is very hard to find bootleg concerts and rarities as well apart from the occasional ebay item. I have built up most of my collection through this website. Saying this, there are some great vinyl record shops here (although they are becoming very few as cds take over) and I have built up the entire back-catalogue of MO vinyls. I think the last time Mike was in the UK charts was with TB2!

When Mike plays a concert here, they are sold out, so there is still a fan base here. But, when it came to buying Light and Shade I only found one store that sold it (and it was overpriced!). If I want to buy the exposed DVD I will have to go to Amazon because I will not find it in a store unless I visit London to go to the bigger shops.

It upsets me as I think Mr. Jarre sells better and he is French! What about our man Mike from England I cry!

Also if you ask anyone from the UK about Mike they will reply by saying something stupid like 'Oh that keyboard guy' or 'Isn't that the fellow that did Tubular Bells?' Ahhhhh, he has done so many more albums than TB!

I go to the occasional boot fair (a place where people sell there stuff from home, a great place to find the occasional MO rare item), I ask people 'Do you have any Mike Oldfield things?', they reply by saying 'Who?'. I want to reply to them by saying 'Mike Oldfield you cloth eared nincompoops' but I don't in fear of receiving a punch on the chin!

I suppose there are a few pros about in being in the UK. If you could track down Light & Shade at least you get the UK Bonus tracks (which are now available at this web).

It's very interesting meet people of other countries and tell us things, opinions and ideas about Mike. I'm sure that in UK Mike is very famous and popular (more than in Spain I think) and I'm very nice to meet people of all the countries.

I should post here, but I speak no Spanish. I also speak to some German Fans. You have a very good site, I like it very much.

If you want to practice your English, please let me help, but there are some very good English speakers here already.

Mike in the UK is seen as very "uncool", only remembered for TB, or MS. The UK fans have not had any meetings for a very long time. Last year I went to Germany to a meeting and it was great. Maybe I will be able to come to one of your meetins, if I win the Lottery
